Sabrina Brouwers Intro Image

Sabrina Brouwers is a London based abstract artist whose practice is centred on geometric compositions and fundamental graphic design principles. Acquiring a post-graduate diploma in Graphic Design at the University of Art London, Sabrina attributes her unique aesthetic to her nomadic upbringing and intricate curiosity in spatial design. Her abstract paintings are a study of our physical surroundings; a journey through man-made landscapes and a visual response to the complexity of our natural environment. Sabrina introduces elementary architectural forms into her work to explore the psychological effects of simplicity, leaving the viewer to be guided through Sabrina’s own study of how we emotionally process the physical world around us.

I like to reference the Bauhaus movement in my work where the Gestalt theory of visual perception emerged - the study of the therapeutic effects of order and simplicity. I am also very inspired by the architect and philosopher, Adolf Loos and the artistic process of Sol LeWitt.
